Thanks to everyone who came out to the
Farmer's Ball on Tuesday to yell really loud. Even though Captain
Overreact didn't move on to the Finals it was a fun show.
Congratulations to Hearts to Waste and (blue) who advanced Tuesday and to
Vibralux and Kelpie who advanced on Wednesday. Also great job to the
Afternoons, Boskk, Ike Turner Overdrive, and sotonightimaysleep who were
eliminated along with us

Look for a Loser's Ball to take place sometime in the future featuring us
and some of these bands. The finals are tonight at the Bottleneck
for anyone who wants to see all the finalists compete.

Subject: Captain Overreact for President
Captain Overreact needs your vote! First off, Captain Overreact has been selected to play in this years' Farmer's Ball, Lawrence's Premier Local Music Festival. The event is a contest so we need all of you to come out to the Bottleneck on Tuesday, April 22, and place your vote. If we make the top two out of five bands, we move on to the finals which take place on April 26. The winner there will be awarded with recording time and various other prizes. If we win it all, an after-party for our fans will be in order.

Subject: OK Go show and more
Hey, it's Captain Overreact with big show news. Captain Overreact will be opening for the ever-popular OK Go on Wednesday, April 30 at the Hurricane in Kansas City. Also on the bill is Kansas City's own National Fire Theory. The show starts at 9:00 pm and Captin Overreact will play first so get there on time. Tickets for this show went on sale today, so click here to visit ticketmaster.com and purchase advance tickets so you'll be sure to get in. In other show news, Captain Overreact will be playing a show at the Bottleneck in Lawrence on Sunday, April 27. Details of this show are sketchy as yet, but we'll let you know. Also look for Captain Overreact to take the stage at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 3 for an outdoor benefit festival with several other bands. Among them are Podstar and Full Feature but many more should be on the bill soon.

Subject: Shareef Don't Like It (but you will)
Captain Overreact will be venturing into the realm of tribute shows at the Bottleneck in Lawrence on Friday night. They will be honoring the late Joe Strummer by putting their own special twist on all your favorite classic Clash songs. So if you're a big Clash fan, or just a Captain Overreact fan, then come out and witness history. Also playing will be Ghosty, the Hardaways, Getaway Driver, Cher UK, and Cheeseboige.

Subject: A Very Long Night of Rock & Roll
Tonight, if you are so inclined, you can catch Captain Overreact in action with SIX other bands at 1846 New Hampshire in Lawrwence. It's all part of a wetlands benefit show. So if you love wetlands and rock n' roll then you're in business. Even if you only kinda like wetlands but love rock and roll you should come out. The other bands on the bill include, but are not limited to: Kelpie, Laredo, Mascon Future, Pink SUVs, Chopper Dave, and the Bleeding Sons. Wow, it will be seven not half bands for the price of one really crappy one.

Subject: Going to Kansas City
Saturday night Captain Overreact takes the stage at the Hurricane in Kansas City with the Starch Martins from Chicago. The Hurricane will doing 2 for 1 cover before 11, so grab a friend and get there early. As a special bonus Captain Overreact will be handing out advance 2-song teasers from their soon to be released EP and will also be unveiling one brand new song at the show.

Subject: Burning Down the House
Captain Overreact will be playing Monday evening at the Paradise Cafe in Downtown Lawrence. The event is a benefit for Serenity Walters whose home was taken by fire on November 20. The event begins around 9:00 PM and will last until close. There will be other live acts, as well as drink specials. Come out and support a good cause and see your favorite band. Cash donations as well as all non-perishable food items will be accepted.
In other Overreact news, the band has just finished recording their six-song debut EP. Copies should be available at all upcoming shows in the new year.

The event lasts from 7-9, and at some point in there Captain Overreact will perform a super intense, 20 minute set. Come to the Hawk's nest on the Union's 1st level and experience the magic.
If seeing rock and roll at educational institutions isn't your thing, then come experience it in a den of sin and debauchery. Yes, it's true, Captain Overreact will be hosting another fabulous party at 1726 Kentucky with very special guests, The Apocalypse Dudes.

Sorry this is such short notice. About an hour ago, it was confirmed that Captain Overreact will be playing a house party at 1704 Kentucky Street in Lawrence. CO should go on stage around 11:00 pm; however, the party will start around 9:30 pm. There will be 4 kegs available as well. Subject: New Shows
Have you been wondering what's missing in your life? It's rock n' roll. What do you do about it? You go to Captain Overreact shows. But when?, where?, you ask. Well I'll tell you. Your first opportunity to witness rock up close is this Thursday, the 15th, at Coco Loco where CO will be opening for Vibralux. This is an 18 & over show so bring the kids.
After you've drank from well of rock you'll no doubt be thirsty for more, and the Captain delivers, not once, but three times. CO will be hosting a house party at 1726 Kentucky on Sat. the 17th which will feature The Motorcyle Prom Dates and The Apologetics, both from Milwaukee, WI. Captain Overreact will almost certainly be playing that night also, we'll let you know for sure. Either way you should come because the party promises to be awesome.
Next up CO will be competing in the Bottleneck's weekly Last Band Standing on Mon. the 26 of August. They should take the stage around 10:00 and need your support if they are to win. If CO receives the most votes they will walk away with a portion of the night's proceeds. So be sure to come out and cast your vote.
Finally Captain O will grace the stage of the Hurricane in Westport as they headline a show with Post Orgasmic Trauma and Codie. This will happen on Thursday, August 29 and should be simply awesome.

Take a trip down mammary lane this Sunday as Rockers, Captain Overreact, perform at the much anticipated
Come out to Abe & Jake's this Sunday, July 21, to support a good cause and see some great bands at the same time. In addition to the hometown heros, Captain Overreact, the very talented Autumn Dog, Vibralux, and local favorites, The Band that Saved the World will be on the bill. Various other special guests and performers will also take the stage. All proceeds from the event will go to Breast Cancer Action and to update publications at the Lawrence Public Library. The event will run from 3 to 9pm and will cost $5. Check out the article in the Lawrence Journal-World here.
In other news, CO will also be playing the following Wednesday at Coco Loco in Lawrence. Also on the bill will be the California based, Imports. Make sure to catch what promises to be a show to remember.

It's us again, Captain Overreact, with an important update.
This Saturday Night, the eight of June, Captain Overreact will be appearing at Jilly's on Broadway in Kansas City, MO. Captain Overreact will take the stage sometime around 11:00, right after our very special guest, Autumn Dog, performs. This night promises to be one to remember, so don't miss it or everyone will call you a loser and make fun of you.
If you've never been to Jilly's, it is at 1744 Broadway. Just take I-70 to Broadway and head towards 17th street. But if you're still lost then here is a map.

Greetings all, courtesy of your favorite rockers in the whole freaking world. . .
That's right, its been a while, but your favorite band is back in action and better than ever. After taking a little break for artistic reflection, the boys are ready to entertain once again.
First of this Thursday, May 9th, you can check out the band at the new house venue,
THE BUDOKAN
at 1726 Kentucky
for the annual Stop Day Rockin' Eve. Show up at 10:00 to catch the band's buddies Mortimer, before the stars themselves take the stage. And afterwards stick around and party with the boys and watch them drink.
Then CAPTAIN OVERREACT hits the road and heads to Silo Tree Music Hall in Warrensburg, MO to show the kids at Central Missouri State how to rock.
Then, Thursday June 20th, CAPTAIN OVERREACT will be appearing at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club in Kansas City along with Mortimer and Green Means GO!!, so be sure not to miss it. (seriously, attendance for this show is mandatory)
